Politics vs vital social constructs.
Socialism is propagandized to be this scary and negative set of ideals. The word itself is weaponized to spread misinformation, and further divide the United States. One of the grounding points of socialism is equality - equal rights, equal representation for ALL people. Socialism by itself is not political, it is representative of a humanitarian mindset, community first.
Two very important examples of political socialism in our modern era, The Suffragette Movement from 1848 until 1920, and The Civil Rights Movement from 1954 until 1968. Men and women, people of all racial backgrounds, and all socioeconomic backgrounds, came together to fight for the equal rights of women, and people of color. We are still doing this today.
Socialized programs benefit the majority. It is a return on taxpayer dollars, consider it a return on investment. These programs are vital for a functioning community. They don’t exclude people for their sex, their race, or their religious affiliations. They don’t condemn someone for being poor, they help the poor the most. The largest beneficiaries of a socialized construct, children.
Examples of existing socialized systems that are part of your everyday life:
Public schools
Daycares
Subsidy programs that give healthcare to children, as well as programs that feed children
Subsidy programs that pay retirees - which is a far return from what anyone expected when paying into the Medicare and Social Security systems, but both are necessary programs.
Homeless shelters and other programs to feed and clothe the homeless
Veterans’ assistance - this goes way beyond the VA
First Responders
Hospitals
The Criminal Justice System
The Constitution of the United States
The list is massive, well beyond what is listed above, and encompasses most things that people have come to know as a normal entity without understanding the true importance.
Religion is also a social construct, taking even the most basic principles of Christianity into account, “love thy neighbor as thyself”. Every form of religion has some kind of community-based ideology. The idea of Separation of Church and State is also a social construct, ensuring that each individual has the same religious freedoms to practice any or no religion, thus, protecting the individual, and allowing for equal religious representation.
Why is socialism looked at so negatively, and framed as an “extremist” mindset?
The answer is not terribly hard to guess. We are living in a money-driven society that puts capitalism above community, oneself above their neighbor, idolizing the rich while condemning the poor. Religion is bastardized to confirm the bias of one individual to pit themselves against another, which is in direct conflict with the religious teachings themselves. All of this is a form of control, control by fear, control by misinformation, control by any means necessary to obtain one thing, power. Socialism gives power to the people, both individually, and collectively, as a community. This is where the conversation should really begin.
I come from a Socialist country and I can say with experience that only a person who hasn't experienced Socialism can say good things about it

To say that socialism is NOT political is absurd.
Socialism is completely political and is used as a means to control every aspect of the lives of every member of a given society. YOU will eat what you are given when we are motivated to give it to you. You can have access to cash when we give you permission, provided you keep your vaccination passport up to date and do not make any negative comments on any social media posts. These very rules are taking place in the United Kingdom.
In fact, I will go so far as to say that socialism is the polar opposite of freedom. Think back a few years when Joe Biden (central casting) tried to mandate that no American citizen can remain employed unless they get the covid vaccine and all of the boosters, and going on tv to tell us that this is a pandemic caused by the unvaccinated! Sound familiar??
That is what they were after; VACCINE PASSPORTS. Guaranteed.
I thank GOD that President Trump put an end to all of that garbage. The democrats were trying desperately to gain control of us in the euphemism of Socialism.
